Perak Promotes Cashless Payment Initiatives

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH: A total of 27 Cashless@NADI programs have been conducted across the state, recording 3,216 cashless transactions.

In addition, 141 traders successfully registered digitally through this cashless payment initiative.

Perak State Executive Councillor for Communications, Multimedia, and NGOs, Azlan Helmi, said that cashless payment methods are becoming increasingly popular among the younger generation but are less favored by the older generation.

He said the state government is committed to raising public awareness about the importance of cashless transactions.

“The Perak Cashless Carnival 2025 program is one of our initiatives to support the aspirations of a cashless community and the local digital economy.

“This program, organized by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), aligns with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan,” he stated in a press release.

Most recently, the program was held at Dewan Arena Tualang Sekah, Malim Nawar, in conjunction with the launch of Perak Cashless Carnival 2025.

Such programs will be expanded throughout the state through collaboration with various agencies.
