Empowering MSMEs through digital tools
The programme focuses on helping MSMEs embrace digital solutions to improve their efficiency and competitiveness.
In 2023 alone, MDEC hosted multiple workshops in Perak, educating over 250 entrepreneurs on technologies like Live Commerce.
These sessions demonstrated how digital platforms could streamline operations and expand market reach.
In addition to MSME workshops, JMD @ Perak showcased success stories of entrepreneurs who leveraged digital tools for growth.
Visitors also attended workshops on essential digital skills, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, offering practical knowledge to enhance daily operations.
MDEC: Digital tourism and economic growth
Tourism, a key economic driver for Perak, was a significant focus of the programme.
MDEC’s efforts included recognising 34 accommodations in the state as DE Rantau Hubs, designed to attract digital nomads and bolster local economies.
The event also highlighted digital tourism innovations, featuring discussions on how technology can transform the sector.
The contributions of digital nomads in advancing tourism were celebrated, aligning with government initiatives to position Perak as a premier digital-friendly destination.
The launch ceremony, held in Perak, was officiated by Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo. He was joined by Loh Sze Yee, Perak State Executive Council Member for Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development, and Datuk Fadzli Abdul Wahit, Chief Digital Transformation Officer of MDEC.
The programme also drew support from key strategic partners, including Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd, Beez Fintech Sdn Bhd, Ejen2U International Sdn Bhd, and Loka Tech Solutions.
These partnerships were instrumental in ensuring the event’s success and advancing its digitalisation objectives.
