The Administration for Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs (the adi, moda), in an effort to assist Taiwanese digital service solution providers in expanding into new markets, led a delegation of 8 Taiwanese digital technology companies along with the Institute for Information Industry (III) to Malaysia from September 18th to 21st. During this period, they organized the Taiwan Digital Day event in conjunction with Malaysia’s Smart Nation Expo. This initiative aimed to promote Taiwan’s digital brands, gather information on Malaysia’s digitalization efforts, and identify potential business opportunities.
The Smart Nation Expo in Malaysia stands as the country’s largest event focused on 5G, AI, and IoT technologies. It showcased advancements in 5G, IoT, IR4.0, emerging technologies, and their applications, highlighting future smart city planning across various sectors such as architecture, transportation, tourism, education, manufacturing, energy, finance, and healthcare. In addition to the exhibition, the event hosted multiple forums and seminars, making it a significant technology summit for promoting collaborations in emerging fields. International magnates and tens of thousands of buyers were present, aligning with the core principles of digital transformation and information upgrading. This event corresponds to Malaysia’s “Shared Prosperity Vision 2023” plan, emphasizing digital transformation and Industry 4.0.
To facilitate deeper collaborations between Taiwanese and Malaysian businesses, the delegation organized Taiwan Digital Day in Kuala Lumpur on September 20th. 8 Taiwanese companies, including FETC International Co., Everbiz Industrial, AcBel Polytech Inc., HwaCom Systems Inc., Turn Cloud, JGB Smart Property, Lydsec Digital Technology Co. Ltd., and Wave-In Communication, engaged in business matching sessions with Malaysian counterparts who specialize in areas such as system integration, smart retail, smart property, and smart commerce. The Administration for Digital Industries, MODA, expressed its gratitude for the continuous support from the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Sdn. Bhd., the National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM), and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). These organizations have a longstanding history of fostering close interactions between Taiwan’s digital and technology industries, laying a solid foundation for industry collaborations to promote Taiwan’s high-quality smart services with their applications and drive digital upgrades and sustainable development in various sectors.
Digital technology plays a pivotal role in driving innovation across industries and is a critical factor in achieving sustainable development goals. Taiwan boasts numerous high-quality digital technology solutions. For example, Glory Technology Service Inc.’s railway communication system has led Taiwanese companies to export MIT solutions and technology to Thailand and the Philippines. e-Formula Technologies Inc.’s comprehensive smart energy solution combines the efforts of Taiwanese and Japanese manufacturers to export it to Bohol, Philippines. FETC International Co.’s integrated solution for ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) and e-Payment has successfully been implemented on the M6 and M81 highways in Thailand. Furthermore, Turn Cloud has facilitated the cloud migration of over 44,000 businesses, with many solutions undergoing trials in Taiwan before expanding into overseas markets, further extending Taiwan’s digital advantages globally.
The Administration for Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs (the adi, moda), remains committed to assisting Taiwanese companies in collaborating with their Malaysian counterparts, sharing Taiwan’s smart solutions, and creating more opportunities for bilateral industry exchange. The goal is to promote collaboration and uncover business prospects, fostering closer ties in Taiwan-Malaysia industrial collaboration for mutual economic prosperity and ultimately advancing towards a mutually beneficial future.
